A hay making machine having tines on arms rotating about a substantially vertical axis and pivoting about the longitudinal axis of the arms comprises a truncated cove 6 of large apex angle with a stiffener ring 34, and from the base of which detachably clamped via stumps 35 tubes 36 radially extend and contain tine carrying arms 9 supported by pivot bearings 38 located near each end of the tubes 36. Arms 9 are constrained to pivot about their longitudinal axes by control levers 37 coacting with curved cam path 40 situated about the cone centre of rotation. The working height of the tines may be altered by a rocker lever 14 attached to the wheel axle 12 and controlled by hand crank 20 via levers 19 and rod 17. A pivotal swath plate is also provided. The turntable may be made of cold drawn plate or of plastics material, and in a modification may be pyrimidal in shape. |
