An air conditioning system for a motor truck establishes thermally comfortable conditions for an occupant sleeping on a berth provided in a driver's cab. The system includes an air duct (C) for distributing part of the conditioned air to the vicinity of the berth and a damper (8) to open or close the inlet of the air duct (C). The system may include a microcomputer (16) for automatically controlling the temperature of the introduced air and distributing the temperature-controlled air optimally by automatically causing the damper (8) to open or close the inlet of the air duct (C) depending upon whether the berth is occupied or not, the temperature outside the driver's cab and the temperature in the vicinity of the berth.
