The invention relates to a rubber mixture based on chlorobutadiene rubber which, in addition to fillers, processing assistants, vulcanising agents and metal oxides, contains, as adhesion promoters, cobalt salts, hydroxybenzenes and derivatives thereof which form phenol resin-type resins with formaldehyde, and contains a formaldehyde donor. In order to achieve good adhesion, even to stainless steel, it preferably contains from 5 to 15 phr of brominated octylphenol-formaldehyde resin.
