摘要 PURPOSE:To increase an ion current output value in a high air ratio and to enable widening of a combustion controllable range by a method wherein a flame detecting element is provided facing opposing burner ports. CONSTITUTION:Fuel-air premixture produced by gasifying kerosene and mixing air therewith is injected through a plurality of burner ports 18 formed in burner port plates 17 positioned facing each other and producing combustion chamber 16 by means of a fuel-air premixture feed pipe 15. A flame detecting element 20 is inserted in a combustion chamber 16 from above, and is caused to approach the front of a part of the burner ports 18 in the one burner port plate 17. In the case of fuel-air mixture exceeding stoichiometric value (1<m<1.3), flame starts total primary combustion and simultaneously is separated from the burner port 18 to form a levitating flame. Flame starting to levitate is collided and coupled with an opposite flame in the vicinity of the central part of the combustion chamber 16. A voltage is applied by the flame detecting element 20 to substantially increase the areas of flame, the burner port 18, and the burner port plate 17. By increasing a contact area to an increase in electric resistance between the burner port plate 17 and flame due to levitation, an ion current output value is not decreased and a combustion control range is enlarged.
