PURPOSE:To provide an engine knocking controller that is able to lower a temperature of air-fuel mixture in and around a compressing top dead center and to control any knocking effectively, in an engine provided with each knocking controlling water injection valve in respective independent intake passages. CONSTITUTION:In an engine provided with each water injection valve 27 in respective independent intake passages 23, 24, water injection timing in this water injection valve 27 is synchronized with an intake stroke of each of corresponding cylinders, and it is set so as to get water fed into a combustion chamber 14 within an overlap period of each valve opening timing of intake valves 2, 4 and exhaust valves 6, 8. In this case, if desirable, it is featured that the engine E is equipped with a supercharger 20, and a P port 3 generating a swirl in each cylinder and an S port 5 fitted with an on-off valve 31 are installed in addition and, what is more, the water injection valve 27 is installed at the side of the P port 3. |
