PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loading sheet non-contactly counting method for reliably counting the number of loading sheets by detecting the image light of a boarder line existing between sheets without being affected by the unevenness of the thickness of the sheets forming the loading sheets and the state of a cutting section. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 2 is used as a non-contactly counting means of the loading sheets 1, the CCD camera 2 is moved along the side face of the loading sheets 1 to detect the video light 9 of the boarder line 3 between respective sheets 1' forming the loading sheets 1 in the process of the movement, and the number of loading sheets 1 is counted by the number of times when the video light 9 of a boarder line 3 is detected.
