PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator which can ensure the airtightness in a closed state even when a strong wind blows. SOLUTION: Ventilating holes 14 are formed in the base wall 12 (main wall) of a main body 10. When an operating plate 40 is pressed from the back by rotating cam members 72 of a cam mechanism 70 (pressing mechanism), the operating plate 40 is brought into close contact with the base wall 12 directly or through the intermediary of a packing 44 and thereby the ventilating holes 14 are closed. When the cam members 72 are rotated in the opposite direction, the operating plate 40 is detached from the base wall 12 by the force of springs 69 and the ventilating holes 14 are opened. These opening and closing operations are executed by slide operations of an operating knob 80. The linear movement of this operating knob 80 is converted into the rotation of a shaft 91 through the intermediary of a converting mechanism 90 and thereby the cam members 72 fixed to this shaft 91 are rotated. |
