PURPOSE:To form artificial marble having a grain pattern wherein gravitational settling of crushed stone mixed thereinto is not caused by forming this artificial marble of a structure for laminating three kinds of resin layers by the specified constitution. CONSTITUTION:In artificial marble 1 having a grain pattern, a first layer 2 of the surface is a transparent gel coating resin layer incorporating crushed stone 3. A second layer 4 of the rear of this layer 2 is a translucent resin layer having >=4%. the whole light transparency of visible light. A third layer 5 of the rear of this layer 4 is an opaque layer. The first layer 2 properly has 0.1-1.0mm thickness. As gel coating resin constituting the layer, unsaturated polyester resin is preferably used which has 18 viscosity (poise/25 deg.C) and 5 degree of thixotropy. Artificial ceramic, mica, fiber and the fragment of synthetic resin besides natural stone may be substituted for crushed stone 3. The second layer 4 properly has 2-20mm thickness and is formed by mixing glass frit, glass powder and aluminum hydroxide, etc., into unsaturated polyester resin or methyl methacrylate resin and regulating the light transparency to the transparency value. The third layer 5 has 0.1-18mm thickness and is an opaque colored resin layer and reinforced by glass fiber, and may be filled with a foam and a glass balloon. |
