The wheel rim has a first part (5) formed as an annular ring and located on the exterior with respect to the geometric center of the rim. It carries a rim profile (6) which is designed to accept and hold a tire (7) of the appropriate shape. A second part (15) is arranged on the interior of the first part and is made from synthetic material. The first and second parts are connected together by a junction ring (17) made from elastomeric material. The elastomeric material has a coefficient of expansion that is greater than that of the material that forms the first part.
