The receptacle terminal (2) includes a base (8) and a contact pressure member (12). The base has side walls (10) extending up from it. The contact pressure member has one or more spring arms (14) extending in the mating direction (M) of the terminal from the connection end (24) to the mating end (28). Each spring arm has a central bowed section (30) which faces the base and contact pressure protrusions (32,34) close to the mating and connection ends respectively. The contact pressure member pivots about supports which extend between the bowed section and the side walls. The base includes a locking protrusion below the bowed section for engaging the complementary locking hole of the mating tab terminal.
