<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simultaneously extracting a polyphenol related to coffeic acid and anthocyanin coloring matter which are conventionally separately extracted, without using acid such as sulfuric acid and formic acid and an organic solvent such as an alcohol. <P>SOLUTION: The subject method for acquiring sweet potato functional essence comprises extracting in hot water stem and leaf of sweet potato, sticking the extracted components to a synthetic adsorbent, and eluting the product with a lower alcohol-containing solvent. A method for producing the polyphenol related to coffeic acid or the anthocyanin coloring matter comprises dividing the functional essence with an aqueous solution containing ethyl acetate and acetic acid and acquiring the polyphenol related to coffeic acid from an ethyl acetate phase and the anthocyanin coloring matter from a water phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
