<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely carry out communication with a non-contact IC tag of a paper sheet during the conveying in an image forming apparatus or image reading apparatus for handling a paper sheet with a non-contact IC tag attached thereto. <P>SOLUTION: A paper sheet 14a to be a target for communication is temporarily stopped in a communication section 26 provided in a conveyance path. The paper sheet 14a is abutted to a retard roller 30 which is not rotating, to be stopped. Before a succeeding paper sheet 14b is conveyed to be abutted to the retard roller 30, the retard roller 30 and a conveyance roller 36 are rotated in a forward direction to convey the paper sheet 14a to the downstream side. While the paper sheet 14a is temporarily stopped, information is read or written from or to the IC tag 28 by means of an antenna 32 placed to a position opposite to the non-contact IC tag 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
