PURPOSE:To provide a process for producing an oxidation-resistant C/C composite material (carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material) exhibiting excellent oxidation resistance over a long period without causing the devitrification and melt-falling of the outer layer. CONSTITUTION:The production process consists of (A) the 1st coating step to contact SiO gas with the surface of a C/C base material and form an inner layer of SiC film by conversion process, (B) the 2nd coating step to apply a suspension of fine SiO2 particles produced by hydrolyzing Si(OC2H5)4 in basic region by an alkoxide process, apply an SiO2 glass precursor produced by hydrolyzing Si(OC2H5)4 in acidic region by an alkoxide process, heat the layer at >=400 deg.C, apply B(OC4H9)3 and heat at >=500 deg.C to form a B2O3-SiO2 intermediate layer and (C) the 3rd coating step to apply an SiO2 glass precursor produced by hydrolyzing Si(OC2H5)4 with an acidic solution by an alkoxide process and heat the layer at >=100 deg.C to form an SiO2 gel layer. |
