Equipment for renewing the roundness of a tyre (24) comprises an extruder which moves up to a rotatable carcass (24) and has a slit-nozzle extending axially over the sidewall. The nozzle outlet forms a plane (44) with a normal (35) extending to the sidewall and at an angle to the carcass (24) rotation direction. Rubber extruded through the nozzle is pressed into the sidewall as a thin layer.
