PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of correctly evaluating the discharge capacity of a secondary battery in a short time. SOLUTION: In the method for evaluating the discharge capacity of the secondary battery, the secondary battery is made to perform pulse discharge to obtain an internal resistance value on the basis of changes in discharge current and changes in terminal voltage associated with the changes in discharge current, and the discharge capacity is computed by substituting the obtained internal resistance value into the preciously prepared relational expression of internal resistance values and discharge capacities. It is preferable to perform pulse discharge at frequencies between 0.5 Hz and 1000 Hz in this method. In addition, the computation of the discharge capacity may be performed a plurality of times by changing the frequency of the pulse discharge.
