发明名称 LEAD-ACID BATTERY ANODE PLATE
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase high rate discharge performance, utilization and holding capability of active mass in the edge portion, and life of the anode plate by forming narrow porous lead portion prepared by cathodically reducing a part of active mass in a edge portion of an expanded substrate. CONSTITUTION:A condutive auxiliary electrode is brought into contact with the edge portion of a nonformed anode plate prepared with expanded substrate 1 to cathodically reduce the edge portion into lead. Produced lead layer 2 is porous same as cathode active mass. After the auxiliary electrode is removed, the remainder of nonformed plate is anodically oxidized to form PbO2. Since porous lead layer 2 of the edge portion of the expanded substrate 1 functions as a current collector when the anode plate is charged or discharged, electric resistance of the substrate 1 is decrease and high rate discharge performance is increased. Since lead layer 2 is porous, the contact area with lead dioxide is incrased than that of regular substrate and lead dioxide, and holding capability of active mass in the edge portion is increased, and life is also increased.
