<p>PURPOSE: To enhance filter efficiency by electrostatically isolating conductive charged media and fibrous filter media by means of electrically insulative spacers. CONSTITUTION: One pair or plural pairs of the electrostatically conductive charged media 10, 11 having each pair of media have through passages to allow approximately free passage of air and are arranged to face each other so as to have the relations to maintain the spacings in parallel with each other. The filter media including fibrous filter pads 12 of a flat shape are arranged between respective pairs of the charged media. Further, the respective filter pads 12 are isolated from at least one charged media 10, 11 adjacent to the filter pads 12 by the electrically insulative spacers 13. The respective charged media are connected to the respective electrodes of a high-voltage feed section. The respective charged media, filter media and insulating spacers are supported by a frame device in the state of maintaining the relative relations described above with each other within the air filter system. Consequently, the filter efficiently is enhanced.</p> |
