PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor that needs no insertion step. SOLUTION: This inductor is provided with a flat plate 11 that a metallic plate with conductivity is cut alternately from its both ends toward the other end face, a plurality of flat plate 14a and flat plate 14b which are formed adjacent to each other by cutting, joints 15a and 15b that are connected on the ends of the flat plates 14a and 14b, and terminals 16a and 16b that are led out from the joints 15a and 15b and can be surface-mounted. The flat plate 14a is entirely pressed upward and the flat plate 14b is entirely pressed downward, forming a cylindrical space 19 therewith. Thus, an inductor 20 which needs no insertion step can be obtained.
