PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which properly detects a reverse run of an own vehicle.SOLUTION: The navigation system comprises: a map information storage section 12 for storing map information including a road map; position detection means 206 for detecting a present position of a vehicle; map matching processing means 208 which performs map matching processing on the basis of the present position of the vehicle detected by the position detection means 206 and the map information stored by the map information storage section 12, the map matching processing means 208 repeatedly specifying the present position of the vehicle on a road; and reverse run determination means 210 which evaluates temporal continuity of the positions repeatedly specified, the reverse run determination means 210 determining whether or not the vehicle is in a state of a reverse run on the basis of an evaluation result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
