A process for the prepn. of a mixed oxide comprising V, Sb and Ti, corresp. to the general formula VSBaTibOx (I); a = a whole or fractional no., 0.1 min.; b = a whole or fractional no., 0.1 min.; x = a whole or fractional no. determined by the degree of oxidn. of the other elements, in which cpds. of V, Sb and Ti are dissolved in at least one satd. alcohol; the alcohol soln. is contacted with water to ppte. the mixed oxide; the oxide obtd. is separated and calcined. Also claimed, is the use of the oxide in ammoxidation reactions.
