PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for servo signal generation and a disk device capable of reducing the cost, preventing the occurrence of computational delay, making the servo bandwidth wider, and improving the precision in the servo operation. SOLUTION: The servo signal generating device is provided with ΔΣconverters 7, 8 and 9, which convert servo error signals into digital signals having arbitrary bits by a ΔΣ modulation system, and an MPU 10 which conducts a phase compensation process against ΔΣ conversion outputted digital signals. Since the process is conducted by adding operations, servo error signals are converted into one bit by the ΔΣ conversion and the phase compensation and returning light quantity division compensations are simply processed by additions. Thus, the desired operation can be conducted at a low cost, the time delay can be reduced compared with the case, in which an A/D converter is used, the servo bandwidth can be made wider and the controlling performance can be improved. |
