There is disclosed an identity device 10 such as to identify a meter reader or for use as a credit card, for example, and which remains operative for its intended purpose for predetermined time period after which it becomes inoperative. The device includes, for example, means which can be acted upon with a coded signal, applied through contacts 12, to bring it to the operative state in which an L.C.D. panel 11 displays a 'cord-valid' indication for a predetermined time period after which the L.C.D. gives a 'cord-invalid' indication until a further coded signal is applied to restore the operative condition. <IMAGE> |
