摘要 PURPOSE:To inject seed light efficiently or extract an output laser efficiently by a method wherein seed light is injected into a laser resonator through a stimulated Brillouin scattering medium, passed through a laser medium and amplified. CONSTITUTION:The light of intensity of a specified threshold or less is transmitted through a stimulated Brillouin scattering medium 4 set up onto the optical path of seed light emitted from a laser device 2 for generating seed light, but the medium 4 has properties, in which the medium 4 reflects the light of intensity exceeding the threshold when the light of intensity exceeding the threshold is projected. Seed light is injected into a laser resonator through the stimulated Brillouin scattering medium 4 under the state, in which a laser medium 1 is excited by a light source for optical pumping 1a fitted into the laser resonator composed of the stimulated Brillouin scattering medium 4 and an output mirror 5, and passed through the laser medium 1, thus amplifying seed light. Accordingly, light is brought to intensity exceeding the threshold of the stimulated Brillouin scattering medium 4, thus generating oscillation in the resonator, then acquiring output laser light.
