PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy probe for collecting a soft tissue sample from a surgical patient. SOLUTION: The probe 10 has a frame 40 having a front end and a base end and a perforating element mounted at this end. This perforating element has a front end and a port which is arranged on the base end side of the front end and accepts a nearby tissue portion. The element has a cutter 50 having a base end and a front end. This cutter 50 is arranged slidably with the perforating element and has, at its front end, a cutting blade for cutting the tissue portion projecting into the port of the perforating element when the cutter 50 slides to the front end side through the port. The cut tissue portion is placed within the inside hole part of this cutter. The probe 10 has a tissue removing device 60 which is arranged within the inside hole of the cutter and has a structure at its front end of the purpose of shutting off the inside hole part of the cutter, by which the movement in the inside hole part of the cutter of the cut tissue sample projected into the port is prohibited.
