VARNISH FOR PRINTING INK

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject varnish, composed of a reactional product of a terminal amino group-containing urethane-urea resin with an acid anhydride group-containing chlorinated polyolefinic resin, having excellent adhesive strength to polyolefinic films, etc., and good in pigment dispersion stability. CONSTITUTION:The objective varnish is composed of (A) a terminal amino- containing urethane-urea resin (a resin prepared by blending a terminal OH- containing bifunctional polyol having 1000-6000 molecular weight with a diisocyanate compound so as to provide a ratio % of NCO/OH: <=2 and >1 and reacting the resultant terminal NCO-containing prepolymer with a diamine compound so as to afford a ratio % of NH2/NCO: <=2 and >1 and (B) an acid anhydride group-containing chlorinated polyolefinic resin. This varnish is obtained by reacting 10wt.% acid anhydride group in the component (B) with the terminal amino groups in the component (A).
