Seen in plan view the spacers are formed by a meander-shaped surface structure arranged between the objects (1,2,3) which are arranged in at least one row. The spacer can be an upright substantially flat strip (4,4a) placed between the objects which are initially supplied in two rows. The meander-shape is then automatically formed by the objects themselves as the two rows slot into each other to form one row. The spacer is formed from a paper and/or foam base and can have a honeycomb, strip or perforated structure. The foamed material should be based on natural plant starch for environmentally acceptable disposal. USE/ADVANTAGE - The spacer can be adapted easily to different packing quantities.
