<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence due to the background signal inside a chamber. <P>SOLUTION: This moisture meter is equipped with a sample cell 11, into which a measuring object gas is introduced, an optical chamber 19, a background signal control means for changing the influence of the background signal, by adjusting a pressure in the optical chamber; and an operation control part 34 for determining a moisture concentration value, based on a detection value from a photodetector.
