<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stereo image encoding apparatus, stereo image encoding method and stereo image encoding program in which motion compensation prediction encoding close to actual motion is achieved to improve precision in encoding a plurality of images. <P>SOLUTION: The stereo image encoding apparatus comprises: a grouping unit 4 for implementing grouping of regions within a screen in accordance with a parallax calculated by a parallax calculation unit 3 and for extracting characteristics of the grouped regions; and a motion prediction unit 7 for predicting motions of the respective regions grouped by the grouping unit 4, in consideration of characteristics extracted by the grouping unit 4, then an encoding unit 8 uses motion prediction results of the regions by the motion prediction unit 7 to encode images A, B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
