A child car seat level indicator including a car seat base adapted to removably receive an infant carrier and having a lower surface positionable upon the seat of a vehicle; an indicator plate including a plurality of panels secured to one side wall of the base; a cover plate of a transparent material, the cover plate being in a configuration generally coincident in size and configuration with the indicator plate, the cover plate having a periphery secured to the periphery of the indicator plate and having an outwardly extending peripheral and front face spaced from the backing plate; a pivot pin formed between the cover plate at the axis and the indicator plate; and an inverted T-shaped member with an enlarge upper end having an aperture therethrough pivotably secured to the pivot pin and having a lower region pivotable about the axis whereby when the base is properly positioned the pendulum will be in one panel of the central zone but when the base is at an improper angle orientation the lower end will be in another panel.
