The container has an opening enclosed by a flat edge (2), and a cover sealing the opening adhered to the edge. The cover has a pull-tab (4) extending outside the edge. The cover is made from a flexible, tearable material, and the pull line (6), which extends between the far end of the pull-tab and the middle of that part of the edge adjacent to the pull-tab, extends at a distance from the center of gravity of the opening. Because the pull line extends in a different direction, the user will tend to grasp the container in a different direction and then pull in a different, non radial direction. A blind channel extending from the content of the container is recessed between the cover and the continuation of the edge, where the tear caused when the pull-tab is pulled intersects the channel.
