In a system, which is supplied a meter-reading data received from a remote meter-reading terminal through a concentrator to perform a remote meter-reading, the remoter meter-reading terminal includes a power meter-reading part for meter-reading the amount of power used by a customer, an electricity-theft sensor for sensing a surreptitious use of electricity, an electricity-theft detecting part for receiving a sensing signal of the electricity-theft sensor and detecting an electricity-theft, and a remote meter-reading part which receives readings from the power meter-reading part to transmit the received readings to a server according to a remote meter-reading rule, and transmits the surreptitious use of electricity to the server when the surreptitious use of electricity is detected. According to the present invention, various types of thefts of electricity are rapidly detected and are automatically reported to a related authority, thereby preventing and watching occurrence of theft of electricity, reducing economical loss and energy loss due to the theft of electricity, and preventing a safety accident due to current leakage.
