PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for level shifting free of a conventional problem that a device is unable to operate at a higher frequency. SOLUTION: The method for level shifting a binary signal includes receiving an input binary signal having an AC component and a first common mode component of a first voltage. The AC component is decoupled from the first common mode component. A second common mode component of a second voltage is added to the AC component, providing a binary output signal having the AC component and the second common mode component of the second voltage. This method includes operating in one of alternate first and second modes. In the first mode, DCC is performed, but in the second mode, the DCC is not performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
