<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and readily provide a 4-campestenone-containing composition or a composition containing the 4-campestenone as an active ingredient, which have antiobesity activity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing the 4-campestenone-containing composition includes culturing filamentous fungi in a solid medium that contains campesterol to convert the campesterol in the medium to the 4-campestenone, thus providing a filamentous fungi-fermented product having a conversion to 4-campestenone of 5 mass% or higher. The filamentous fungi are the filamentous fungi belonging to the genus Penicillium or the genus Aspergillus which has a conversion to the 4-campestenone of 5 mass% or higher. Wheat bran is used as the solid medium. The 4-campestenone-containing composition having the antiobesity activity, is obtained by the production method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
