1436125 Floating structure for fish farming R M BARGE 10 Sept 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42252/72 Heading A1A A rectangular, square, hexagonal or circular floating structure for fish farming comprises imperforate walls and two opposed apertures adjacent each of which are provided two spaced channels for accommodating respective mesh screens each of which is independently capable of preventing fish from escaping from the associated aperture. The rectangular form shown comprises imperforate side and bottom walls formed from a single piece of plastics and suspended from bars 4. End frames 8 are each divided into two sections 12, 13 by a respective bar 11 and each section 12, 13 has parallel channels 14 to accommodate a respective mesh screen. Each end frame 8 comprises adjustably pivoted side walls 9, a bottom wall 10 to a top wall 12a and the dividing bar 11. The bars 4 are connected to beams 16 by upper and lower slats 7 which provide a walkway and a space for buoyant material or air filled pipes. Connections 20 between the bars 4 and beams 16 allow movement with the water. The structure is moored by ropes 22, many have end weed deflectors, be covered by a net and may be used in series. |
