PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent applying a voltage which exceeds a withstanding voltage to a treatment tool and to prevent the insulation destruction of a tool without using a special treatment tool by providing a control means for controlling a power supply means in order to restrict an output voltage to be within a range by which the output voltage does not exceed a withstanding input voltage from an input means or a voltage value obtained by means of correcting it. SOLUTION: A control circuit 32 is functionally provided with a waveform control part 51 for giving a work instruction or the like to a waveform generating circuit 33 in accordance with a signal from a work switch 5 and an output control part 52 for outputting a gain value, for example, to be given to a variable amplifier circuit 34 in accordance with an output power level or the like which is set in an operation panel 12. Then a withstanding voltage correction part 53 for executing correction in order to have the enough withstanding voltage which is inputted by a withstanding input voltage part 41 is also arranged and the gain value outputted from an output control part 52 is adjusted by an output voltage restriction control part 54 in order to permit the output voltage value of high frequency power outputted from a high frequency thermocautery power source device not to exceed the withstanding voltage which is corrected in the part 53.
