PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte used for a lithium ion secondary battery and a lithium ion secondary battery which are hard to cause the degradation of battery characteristics such as life and load characteristics even under a high-voltage condition as well as a normal-voltage condition.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte of the present invention comprises: a nitryl compound having a sulfonyl group, which is expressed by the general formula (1) below ; and a cyclic carbonate having an unsaturated bond.
