COMBINED SURGICAL NEEDLE-SUTURE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE

A suture (30) is attached to a surgical needle (10) possessing a shank (12) of reduced diameter. Attachment is accomplished by means of a shrinkable tubing (20) which is fitted about the shank of the needle and an end of the suture, application of heat to the tubing effecting its shrinkage with consequent secure attachment of the needle to the suture.
