PURPOSE:To prevent peeling of a magnetic layer and the occurrence of stuck materials to improve the durability by using a specific fatty acid ester as the lubricant contained in the magnetic layer and making the surface of a cleaning sheet, which is directly brought into contact with the magnetic layer, of non- thermoplastic fibers. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a magnetic disk 2 rotatably stored between upper and lower cases 1a and 1b of a magnetic disk cartridge, the magnetic layer which essentially consists of ferromagnetic metallic powder and contains at least a nonmagnetic binder and a lubricant is provided on a base body made of a nonmagnetic body. A fatty acid ester which has <=0 deg.C melting point and has the viscosity at 20 deg.C controlled to >=30 centipoise is suitable as this lubricant. A cleaning sheet 10 is provided on inside faces of cartridge cases 1a and 1b. Since almost all of the surface layer, of the cleaning sheet 10 which is directly brought into contact with the magnetic layer of the magnetic disk 2, is made of non-thermoplastic fibers, a cartridge which is superior in durability and has a high reliability is realized. |
