The mesostructured material for use as a catalyst comprises a mineral matrix containing dispersed particles of nanometric dimensions, based on at least one rare earth and a different transitional element. The mesoporous mesostructure can be of three dimensional hexagonal, two dimensional hexagonal or three dimensional cubic symmetry, or vesicular, lamellar or vermicular in structure, and has an overall wall thickness of between 2 and 20 nm. The mesostructured material for use as a catalyst comprises a mineral matrix containing dispersed particles of nanometric dimensions, based on at least one rare earth and a different transitional element. The rare earth is at least partly in the form of an oxide, hydroxide and/or an oxyhydroxide, and the transitional element is at least partly in an oxidation state. The mesoporous mesostructure can be of three dimensional hexagonal, two dimensional hexagonal or three dimensional cubic symmetry, or vesicular, lamellar or vermicular in structure, and has an overall wall thickness of between 2 and 20 nm. The mineral matrix is based on silica, zircon, aluminum and/or titanium oxide, and is mainly of silica. The material is made by mixing the particles with a texturing agent and a mineral precursor to form an insoluble mineral phase in suitable pH conditions, and subjecting it to thermal and/or reduction treatment. |
