A bulb holder (10) comprises a mounting part (12) and a bulb- engagement part (14) which is releasably engagable with the mounting part (12). The mounting part (12) includes an enclosure (22), two electricity-supply conductors (20) within the enclosure (22), and two spaced access openings (26) in a wall of the enclosure (22) for respectively accessing the two electricity-supply conductors (20). The bulb-engagement part (14) includes a shroud (40), a bulb connector (36) for releasably engaging a bulb (42) and which is recessed within the shroud (40), and a spring-biased pin carrier (38) carrying two elongate pin conductors (64). The pin conductors (64) are movable between extended positions in which the pin conductors (64) project from access openings (74) in a wall (52) of the shroud (40) and retracted positions in which the pin conductors (64) are recessed within the shroud (40). The pin conductors (64) are extendable on engagement of a bulb (42) with the bulb connector (36), and are receivable on extension in the respective access openings (26) of the enclosure (22) to effect electrical communication with the respective electricity-supply conductors (20). A said bulb holder in combination with a bulb is also provided. |
