PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light device capable of extremely simply carry out an exchange of light source and not weakening a case strength when the light source becomes a lightening failure or an impossible lightening and should be exchanged. SOLUTION: The back light device is provided with a light guide plate 3 in which a diffusion plate 1 is provided at a surface side and a reflection plate 2 is provided at a backside; a cathode tube 4 disposed at a side portion of at least one end of the light guide plate 3; and a base chassis 5 for accommodating the light guide plate 3 and the cathode tube 4. An incident light from the cathode tube 4 to the light guide plate 3 is reflected by the reflection plate 2 and is diffused and emitted by the diffusion plate 1. In this case, a light source holder 6 having a retaining protrusion for retaining the cathode tube 4 is turnably supported to the base chassis 5. |
