In a speed-transforming transmission of an electrical traction motor which is mounted fixedly in the frame of a bogie, an articulated drive shaft (1) is connected by a first rocker joint (2) to one end of an output shaft (4) of the traction motor. In addition, this articulated drive shaft (1) is connected with its other end directly to a gear wheel (5) by means of a second rocker joint (3), which gear wheel (5) is displaceably mounted in the gearbox (6) in the axial direction. As a result it is possible to make the device substantially simpler than known arrangements and maintenance-free since now an oil bath can be dispensed with and tangential and axial forces are avoided.
