PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal transfer recording method and a thermal transfer recording intermediate sheet in which the deviation of positions of recording dots is small and an image of sharpness can be formed in a sublimation type thermal transfer recording and the melting type thermal transfer recording. SOLUTION: In a method for using an intermediate sheet and recording an image on an image receiving body, an ink sheet with a coloring material layer formed on a base, an intermediate sheet having an image receiving layer 32 on the base and an image receiving body are used, and a coloring material layer face of the ink sheet and the image receiving face of the intermediate sheet are overlapped together first, and heat is applied from the base side of the ink sheet by a recording head and at least the coloring material of the coloring material layer is thermally transferred onto the image receiving layer 32 to form the image, and then the image receiving face on which the image of the intermediate sheet is formed is overlapped with the image receiving body, and the image receiving layer 32 is transferred from the intermediate sheet onto the image receiving body and formed thereon to form the image on the image receiving body. A base of the intermediate sheet to be used is formed at least of a plurality of bases, and the image receiving layer 32 is formed at least on one base out of a plurality of bases. |
