Disclosed is the use of selected DPP-IV inhibitors for treating physiological functional disorders and reducing the risk of at-risk patient groups developing such functional 5 disorders. Also disclosed is the use of said DPP-IV inhibitors in combination with other agents such that improved treatment results can be obtained. Said uses can be employed for producing corresponding medicaments.
