<p>PURPOSE:To measure the line characteristic of transmission loss, etc., in both directions from one end part of an analogue line by selecting one among a reference signal outputted to the analogue line, a read signal and a signal outputted by means of a data station so as to output it to the analogue line. CONSTITUTION:When a maintainer operates the control panel 21-1 of a network test device 1-1 and inputs a test start command, a call control means 16-1 instructs a call means 10-1 of the connection of a telephone line and the transmission of a test start signal. An exchange network 50 transmits a call signal to a network test device 1-2 and sets the analogue line among the network test device 1-1, the exchange network 50 and the network test device 1-2. A switching means 18-1 selects the output of a signal generation means 12-1 and the signal generation means 12-1 generates the reference signal. The maintainer can obtain the transmission loss of the exchange network 50 by measuring the level of a measurement signal in a measurement unit 53-1.</p> |
