Sliding hand grip for travelator

The hand grip has a strip (4) formed of a material which is sufficiently deformable to allow a reversible flattening into a C-shaped profile. The profile is flattened at the level of the passage of the hand grip around a return pulley at the ends (5,6). The pulley has a small diameter. The guide can have guide sections (25,26) for the middle part of the grip and further guides (28,30) to assure a progressive flattening of the C-shaped profile in a direction of a return pulley at the respective end.There can be a groove (28) in each lateral face of the guide.
