INSERT CONNECTOR AND STEM CASTER ASSEMBLY USING THE SAME

A connector for removably securing a first member having a hollow cavity with a second member such that a portion of the second member is removably fixed within the hollow cavity of the first member. The connector is configured to be inserted into the hollow cavity and has an outer bearing surface configured to rest in abutting engagement with the corresponding portion of the inner wall of the cavity when the connector is inserted into the cavity. The connector also includes an inner bearing surface that corresponds with a portion of an outer wall or surface of a second member and is additionally configured to accommodate the use of a force applicator to press the second member against the inner bearing surface and to press the outer bearing surface against the first member's inner wall to removably fix the second member and connector within the cavity.

1. A connector for removably securing two members together, said connector configured to be inserted into a hollow cavity of a first member and comprising:
a. an outer bearing surface corresponding with a portion of an inner wall of the first member, such that said outer bearing surface can rest in abutting engagement with the corresponding portion of the inner wall of the first member when the body is inserted into the hollow cavity of the first member; b. an inner bearing surface, wherein said inner bearing surface corresponds with a portion of an outer surface of a second member such that said corresponding portion of said outer surface of the second member can rest in abutting engagement with said inner bearing surface when the second member is positioned within the first member adjacent the inner bearing surface; c. a force applicator configured to press said outer surface of said second member against said inner bearing surface and press the opposing outer bearing surface against the corresponding portion of the inner wall of the first member such that said second member is removably fixed within the first member.
