A method to prepare nano sized alpha alumina, suitable as seed material for ceramic abrasive grain manufacture. The raw material of this manufacturing method is highly dispersed alpha alumina monohydrate derived from hydrothermally treated alumina trihydrate and the manufacturing process is conventional sol gel route including seed suspension & sol preparation, gel formation, drying the gel, calcining, sintering and disagglomerating the powder. |
