Collision safety device for a roller gate

The invention relates to a roller gate or similar component which can be operated by means of a drive and which is provided in the region of its front side facing the ground with a sensor in the form of a rubber body which, when the roller gate collides with an obstacle, emits a signal which is supplied to an evaluating circuit which brings about switching off of the drive. The aim of the invention is to increase the operational safety of such a roller gate or of the monitoring device. To this end, the invention envisages assigning the sensor (2) an action member (5) which deforms it mechanically at least in one place and which in each case, both on introduction of the downward movement of the roller gate (1) from its upper end position and on renewed introduction of the continued downward movement of the roller gate after its collision with an obstacle (3) and the switching off of the drive (4) of the roller gate thus caused, always starts or restarts only on and after a signal emission on the sensor brought about by the action member and proper signal evaluation (Fig. 1).
