<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a contact at a card contact only when a card is placed at a reading position by providing a contact system consisting of plural movable contact members so as to contact with the contact of a smart card. SOLUTION: When the smart card 10 is inserted to the insertion slot 11 of a smart card reader, the card 10 is abutted on the abutting member of a cover 5 and pushed into a place of abutting and restraining the cover 5 to the abutting member 9 of a housing 2 against the spring force of a spring 7. During this moving to the member 9, the cover 5 operates a coupling or control means 6 desirably in the form of a pivot member and a contact operating means. Then, the pivot member opens a contact member 3 to bring in into contact with the contact of the card 10. In this case, a suppressing means holds the card 10 at the reading position, desirably until the card is pulled out manually.</p> |
